Of course, the media have been quick to speculate on the significance of this announcement - particularly since it came hot on the heels of the landmark distribution agreement between Harvey Norman and Quantify Technology. Here is a recent article:

The integrated product will be available in the future via Harvey Norman Commercial NSW & ACT, which is estimated to deliver future revenues to Quantify Technology of around $25 million to $30 million per annum.
The pairing of the technologies opens up a wide range of new vertical applications for retirement living, hospitality, healthcare and other industries that will benefit from having a digital assistant that is a part of every room of every building.
During the past week, the Quantify team have been showcasing the integrated product, in Quantify Technology’s demonstration apartment in York Street, Sydney to both strategic partners and clients.
The integration of the Company’s technology with Alexa leverages the power and scale of the Alexa voice service. The continuing investment by Amazon in the Alexa platform provides Quantify Technology a continually expanding service to develop against – protecting the Company’s investment in voice control features.
Future developments will see a dedicated Alexa-enabled fascia developed so that users can simply replace an existing Quantify Technology light switch face plate with a fully Alexa-enabled face plate, ensuring access to full voice control is a simple install in any room, anywhere.
“Now voice control is not only practical, it is seamless, allowing users to control all their connected devices without apps or smart devices. Through this integration, we’re changing the IoT landscape in ways that will not only alter the direction of the industry but will also draw more attention to the exploding technology expertise here in Australia. It’s exciting to be part of making history and celebrating our country’s investment in the future,” said Quantify Technology Managing Director Mark Lapins.
